There is nothing harder than watching your child suffer. Baby allergies can be pretty hard to take; it seems so unfair to bring a precious being into the world only to have them suffer almost immediately from taking their first breath. Sneezing in infants is fairly normal, or so they say, but as a parent it can be pretty obvious when the so-called “normal” sneezing is something more.

Children grow up so fast, they are going from diapers to running around the house so much faster than anyone can anticipate, so suffering from allergies can become that much harder when they have become a toddler. So what do you do, do you start medicating your baby to try and help them with their allergies, or do you cross your fingers and hope they’ll grow out of it?

Baby Allergies – Signs, Symptoms and Some Help

Allergies in babies can take on many different forms, from eczema to sneeze attacks to in severe cases immediate reactions that can be life threatening. One of the first baby allergy symptoms people see is eczema in the form of cradle cap. Luckily, this is usually pretty minor and doesn’t seem to be bothersome to babies. But something that can be very disturbing to them is if they have an intolerance to breast milk or formula. In these cases, soy based formulas are the best solution. Allergies to milk products is a huge cause of hidden food allergies, because the symptoms are often subtle and aren’t directly tied to drinking dairy.

Unfortunately many people, children included, have issues with dairy and wheat and these often go undiagnosed and lead to symptoms asthma, allergies, hives, sinusitis, itchy skin or eczema, canker sores and more. These delayed, low-grade food allergies can cause so much chaos in a baby’s system that if left unaddressed can plague a child for years.

While baby eczema is fairly common in babies and toddlers and often disappears on its own as the child gets older, for those that have issues this will not be the case. Addressing the issues that they have early on will save them a lot of discomfort and unhappy days.
